Certification Materials

Certification materials and prices for IPC/Designer Council members and non-members are listed below. Prices listed below do not include shipping and handling. Some items are discounted and coupled together in study packages. A complete set of study materials is shipped to each workshop registrant as soon as IPC receives a registration form and payment.

Workshop package fees include all study materials, two-day preparation workshop, and exam voucher, which will be sent to you as soon as IPC receives your registration form and payment. There is NO need to purchase any materials separately.

Dates and exam locations are subject to change and/or cancellation if the minimum number of registrants has not been reached 2 weeks prior to the start of the class. Hotel information and directions will be sent once the workshop is confirmed.

The two-day workshop portion of the course will begin at 8:30 am and conclude at 5:00 pm each day, with pre-registration starting at 8:00 am on the first day. The exam will be administered in the morning on the final day, with a review of the test following lunch and concluding by 3:00 pm.

Advance registration is strongly advised for all Designer Certification Training and Testing Workshops. Individuals must register at least three weeks in advance of the course date in order to receive the materials prior to the workshop. Cancellations for workshop registrations will not be refunded once materials have shipped, however, participants may transfer to another workshop date by contacting IPC.

Basic designer certification study materials consist of: IPC-2221, Generic Standard on Printed Board Design; IPC-2222, Sectional Standard on Rigid Organic Printed Boards; IPC-D-325A, Documentation Requirements for Printed Boards; IPC-T-50G, Terms and Definitions for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits; and PWB Designer Certification Study Guide (hardcopy and CD). The Advanced certification materials include a PWB Advanced Designer Certification Study Guide (hardcopy and CD). All references to the IPC standards are included in the study guides.
